What is recorded here

Two concentric rings of earth and stone still mark the Derryboy landscape, preserving a bivallate rath that has watched the fields since the early Christian period. The nested ditches and banks suggest a place of layered defence or status, where people may have gathered, argued, hidden, or simply lived inside the curve of the walls. Its scheduled protection recognises that the ground itself has kept a shape worth remembering, even when the names and events have thinned into silence.
