Beinn Sgùrabhal rises to approximately 550 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Western Isles. Its name, meaning "Speckled Hill" in Gaelic, may reflect its rocky or varied appearance, typical of the region's ancient Lewisian gneiss geology.
