Beinn Mhic Cedidh rises to approximately 760 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Scottish Highlands. Its name, like many in the region, is of Gaelic origin, though specific folklore associated with the mountain is not widely recorded. It contributes to the geographical and cultural character of the area, typical of the mountainous terrain that defines much of the Highlands.
