Prospect East in County Tipperary holds a vanished bawn and thatch house recorded during the Civil Survey, 1654-56. The Georgian house standing there shows no memory of the older wall, suggesting the bawn may have belonged elsewhere or disappeared without a trace. Its loss preserves the mystery rather than solving it.

According to Civil Survey, 1654-56, 'a good old bawne and one thatch house' are located in the 'Garranemore & Ballycharin' area, which was tentatively located to Prospect House. The house is Georgian with no tradition of an older dwelling or bawn in the townland. No visible pre-1700 remains. The seventeenth-century house and bawn remain unlocated within the townland.
