What is recorded here

BAWN in Derrybard is a post-medieval fortification dating to the seventeenth century. It is a place where walls were built to keep out what the land would not surrender. The stones may have guarded a family, a road or a claim to soil. They still stand as a reminder that borderland life was never quiet.
