Bawn in Castlefarm, County Galway, marks a boundary or enclosure whose stones may still lie hidden beneath grass or farm traffic. The name suggests a place where people drew a line around what they valued, perhaps keeping livestock, marking ownership or shaping a neighbourhood. Whatever it guarded, the land remembers the shape because people repeated it often enough to make it visible.
