Battlefield in Castletogher stands in County Galway, Ireland, marked only as a battlefield though the details of the fight have faded from public view. The land may still hold the shape of weapons, footsteps and fear, waiting beneath grass or stone for someone to listen. What is certain is that violence once broke the quiet there, and the place kept its name because forgetting would have been cruel to the people who bled on it.
