The Battle of Wilton was a battle of the civil war in England known as The Anarchy. It was fought on 1 July 1143 at Wilton in Wiltshire.
The Battle of Wilton was fought on 1 July 1143 between forces loyal to King Stephen and those supporting Empress Matilda during the civil war known as The Anarchy. King Stephen's forces, led by William of Ypres, defeated the empress's army, securing a significant strategic advantage in the conflict for the royalist side.
