The Battle of Stirling Bridge was fought in 1297 between Scottish forces led by William Wallace and Andrew Moray against the English army under John de Warenne, 6th Earl of Surrey. The Scots won a decisive victory using tactical use of the narrow bridge, marking a significant early success in the First War of Scottish Independence.
