Battle of Old Byland is a major battle site with a checked map point.
The Battle of Old Byland was fought in 1322 between the English forces under King Edward II and Scottish troops led by Robert the Bruce. The English won a decisive victory, halting Scottish advances into northern England and reinforcing English control in the region during the First War of Scottish Independence.
