The Battle of Moira (also known as Mag Rath) was fought in 637 between the forces of the Ui Neill, led by Domnall mac Áedo, and the Laigin, led by Congal Cáem. The Ui Neill victory ended Laigin dominance in the region and marked a turning point in the struggle for control of southern Ulster, enhancing the political influence of the northern Ui Neill.
