What is recorded here

The Battle of Ferrybridge, 28 March 1461, was a preliminary engagement between the houses of York and Lancaster before the larger battle of Towton, during the period now known as the Wars of the Roses.
Yorkist forces under Sir Thomas Neville clashed with Lancastrian troops near Ferrybridge on 28 March 1461; the Yorkists were defeated, but the battle delayed the Lancastrian advance, allowing time for the decisive Yorkist victory at Towton a few days later.
