Bath Abbey was founded in the 7th century by the Anglo-Saxon king Ine of Wessex and dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul. It was significantly rebuilt in the 15th century in the Perpendicular Gothic style and is notable for its architectural beauty and historical role in the religious and civic life of Bath.
