Knockaunbaun is an eleven-metre earth and gravel mound on the Inny river flood plain, locally believed to hide an underground passage. That is a chamber waiting for breath, not a dead heap of soil. The barrow still holds the shape of the hands that built it and the chamber where those hands stopped being visible.

Knockaunbaun: Located on a level flood plain on the S side of the Inny river, this mound is suboval in plan, with its longer axis orientated N-S. It appears to be entirely composed of earth and gravel, and measures 11m long and approximately 2m high. Local tradition records the existence of an underground passage in the mound.
