In improved pasture, 100m S of a local road that marks the townland boundary with Raheennamadra. Enclosure (LI049-016----) lies 95m to the W. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Identified as a possible ring barrow on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (BGE 1/5000; 2578) taken 03/11/1984. Monument listed as ‘Mitchelstowndown East 17’ and identified as a ring-barrow by Grogan (1989, 239). Visible as a sub-circular cropmark on Google Earth orthoimage dated 20/03/2018.
