What is recorded here

In wet unimproved pasture on the S bank of the Morningstar River that marks the townland boundary with Adamstown. Identified as a possible barrow (Site No. 040273) during examination of aerial photographs (BGE 1/5000 2560) taken 03/11/1984 on Bórd Gáis Éireann gas pipeline. Listed by Grogan (1989, vol. 2, 210) as 'Adamstown 2'. No surface remains visible on Google Earth orthoimages. See attached Bord Gáis Éireann aerial photograph and Google Earth orthoimages. A Neolithic barrow; date uncertain but likely early to middle Neolithic. Its location suggests it may mark a significant boundary or ritual landscape feature in an otherwise poorly recorded region.
