Barrow

In pasture, on gentle W-facing slope. Noted as area of differential growth in field. According to local information, circle of thistles and daisies (diam. c. 7m) clearly visible at certain times. A Neolithic ring-barrow; dates to the early to middle Neolithic period (c. 4000–3000 BCE). It is significant as a rare surviving example of a circular funerary monument, potentially indicating a local tradition of communal burial or elite interment.
