In improved, rough, wet pasture, cut by land drains and watercourses, 6m SW of a townland boundary with Knockainy East. Ring-barrow (LI032-311----) lies 2m to NW. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument identified on aerial photograph (ASIAP 348, 7) taken 05/01/2003 where it is visible as a small circular-shaped earthwork. Upstanding monument is visible as a circular-shaped cropmark (diam. 13m) on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage 05/04/2006.
