Barrow

In level wet pasture on the NW side of a field system (TS057-016014-) with a ringfort (TS057-016001-) 8m to the NE and ring-barrow (TS057-016010-) 8m to the SSW with other ring-barrows nearby. Roughly circular area (dims. 5m N-S; 4m E-W) enclosed by an earthen scarp (Wth 0.6m; H 0.1-0.2m) with a shallow fosse (Wth at base 0.4) and slight traces of a barely visible external earthen bank (int. A Neolithic ring-barrow; part of a clustered burial tradition, likely associated with early farming communities. Its proximity to a ringfort and other ring-barrows suggests a significant ritual or necropolitan landscape.
