Barrow

The precise location of a burial mound in a place called 'Carawn' in the townland of Barrettstown has not been identified. A possible burial mound or mound barrow described by Wilde (1857-61, 89) as a tumulus consisting of, ‘a small oval nipple upon the rise of some sloping ground in a place called Carawn’.
