What is recorded here

In pasture 160m N of the Morningstar River that marks the townland boundary with Mitchelstowndown. A group of 3 barrows (LI049-029002/04-) lies 105m to SE. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Possible barrow listed as ‘Mitchelstowndown East 8’ by Grogan (1989, 239). Visible as a circular cropmark (diam. c. 6m) on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-2013. A ditch barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Its presence suggests a local funerary tradition and possible ritual landscape use in Mitchelstowndown East.
