Balnagown Castle, located in Ross and Cromarty, Scotland, was originally a medieval tower house that was later expanded into a country house in the 19th century by the Mackenzie family, who were prominent Scottish clan leaders. It is important as a historic seat of the Mackenzies of Kintail and as an example of the evolution of Scottish castles into country estates.
