Ballyscaddan Grave Yard holds Ryan monuments from 1705 to 1779 within a post-1700 stone wall on the demesne lands of Ryves Castle. The rectangular burial ground, known locally as Castle Jane graveyard, may also cover a possible medieval church site, layering older faith beneath later family pride. Dead Ryans have watched the castle grounds for centuries, their names preserved while the living forget how deep the place reaches.

Situated on the demesne lands of Ryves Castle which is built on site of Castle Jane (LI041-047-----) located 220m to SSE. Ballyscaddan burial ground known locally as Castle Jane graveyard depicted as a rectangular shaped area (approx. dims. 36m N-S x 45m E-W) enclosed by a post-1700 stone wall with entrance gate at N. Described by Westropp (1904-5, 452) as 'a graveyard, having monuments of the Ryans, 1705-79'. Possible medieval church site (LI041-019001-) located inside burial ground.
