Ballynakill House is a rectangular castle of five bays, two floors and an attic, possibly late 17th century, incorporating part of an earlier tower house. The Dobbin family owned the decayed castle in 1640, and a 17th-century fireplace emerged during later renovations. The building stands on the SW shore of the King's Channel, beside Ballynakill church site, with a semi-circular tower base protruding onto the public road just NE of the house.
