What is recorded here

Ballycarney bridge was included in the SMR (1988) as a possible 17th century structure. This is an eight-arch bridge with arches of equal width and dressed voussoirs. There are cut-waters in the piers rising to refuges at the parapet. It was built c. 1780 and was reputedly built by the Oriel brothers of Hampshire.
