What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1837, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of vermiculated-banded drag edged dragged cut-limestone piers on chamfered plinths having "Cavetto" stringcourses below urn finial-topped capping supporting cast-iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Ballinlough Castle.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 15400908) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Ballinlough Castle estate.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
