Balleeghan Upper Cairn

A small subcircular mound of stones 6.8m in diameter N-S and 1.8m high. It is surrounded by a kerb of larger stones and is situated on the highest point of a good grazing field. Neolithic passage tomb, dating to approximately 3500–2500 BCE. Its location on high ground suggests ritual or communal significance, typical of Neolithic burial and ceremonial sites.
