This blue commemorative plaque records: Childhood residence of Sir Arthur Rostron KBE 1869-1940 who as Captain of the SS Carpathia went to the rescue of the survivors of the RMS Titanic in the early hours of Monday 15th April, 1912 Recorded plaque organisation: Bolton & District Civic Trust.
Captain Arthur Rostron is remembered for commanding the SS Carpathia which rescued over 700 survivors from the sinking RMS Titanic in 1912, a pivotal moment in maritime history.
