What is recorded here

Arthur Guinness was born in 1725 at Clonoughlis in Celbridge, County Kildare, the son of a clerk working for a Church of Ireland bishop. That connection gave the young man his first taste of leverage, because the bishop later placed him inside his own household and left money in a will. He turned inherited opportunity into a brewery, moved it into Dublin, and changed ale into porter until the dark beer became the point. The birthplace is small, but it is the start of a global name.
