What is recorded here
Ardilistry Bay features sandstone and limestone cliffs formed during the Carboniferous period, around 300 to 360 million years ago, through sedimentary deposition in shallow marine environments. The area is notable for its well-preserved fossil content and the contrast between resistant and eroded rock layers along the coast.
