Architectural fragment in Townplots

On the E side of Carmel Avenue, adjacent to the line of the town wall of Kinsale (CO112-034001-). Broken fragments of pecked and dressed limestone, also squared and roughly worked granite blocks (av. L 0.37m; av. Wth 0.24m) are now re-set amongst randomly coursed rubble in the walls of a religious grotto. The origin of this material is unknown but it may have been associated with the nearby Carmelite friary (CO112-089----).
