What is recorded here
Rinnamona still hides a castle, but only fragments remain. A chamfered stone from a loop window and other dressed pieces surfaced during examination of the site. The exact location is no longer known, yet the stones prove the castle existed and shaped the land before memory faded.
A chamfered and splayed cut stone from the loop window of a castle and other dressed stone was found in Rinnamona townland while examining a possible location for a castle (CL017-227----) (Breen and Ua Cróinín 2000, 6). The precise location of these fragments is unknown.
