Architectural fragment in Mullanacross (trough By.)

Architectural fragment

What is recorded here

Favor Royal, Co. Tyrone holds two carved heads taken from Errigal Trough graveyard, a transfer recorded in 1943. The stones left Mullanacross already marked by loss, yet they continued speaking through carve and edge. Perhaps they were moved to keep the heads visible when the graveyard itself receded from memory.
Two corbels decorated with carved heads were moved from Errigal Trough graveyard (MO003-018003-) to Favor Royal, Co. Tyrone (ITA Survey 1943). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 7 November 2016
