What is recorded here

No church in Graigabbey South still stands. The fragment is a spandrel, triangular and grooved for glass, torn from a cusped window that once caught light in Templemoyle. It may have belonged to either of two lost churches nearby, but the stone no longer remembers which. What is certain is that someone cut it to fit, set it in a wall, and watched sky move through the opening above.

This worked triangular piece of limestone is the spandrel of a cusped tracery window. It is grooved along both sides and the bottom for the insertion of glass. Its original location is unknown but it is possible that may be associated with either of two churches (GA084-127002- and GA071-082003-) in Templemoyle townland c. 2km to the N.
