Architectural fragment in Cruicetown (kells Lower By.)

Architectural fragment

What is recorded here

Cruicetown parish church in County Meath still holds a piscina bowl and other dressed stones inside its nave. Those fragments may have served a older building before they joined the present church, suggesting that worship and memory moved rather than disappeared. The stones carry no warning, only continuity: a room changed, but the act of keeping sacred water or marking holy space continued unchanged.
The piscina bowl and other dressed pieces are in the nave of Cruisetown parish church (ME005-094----). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 10 July, 2014
