St. Kieran the elder founded Churchland in the fifth century, but a medieval quoin stone still carries a woman’s head in relief. Window mouldings and sandstone rotary quernstones scatter beside the footpaths around the Church of Ireland building, suggesting older worship, meal preparation and reuse rather than one clean churchyard. The fragment turns the area into a layered place where faith, domestic labour and memory keep appearing through broken stone.

Founded by St. Kieran the elder in the fifth century (ITA Survey 1943). Quoin stone possibly of the medieval church containing a womans head carved in relief. Other fragments of window mouldings of medieval date lie scattered alongside of the footpath to the N and W of the C of I church.
