What is recorded here

A stoup was uncovered in a garden W of the medieval church (TS053-064----) of Ballykelly and it is probable that it came from this church originally (O'Brien 2006, 92-4). The stoup is currently located in a garden outside Cashel. It consists of a roughly circular bowl (dims. 0.165m x 0.2m; D 0.08m) at one end of a rectangular block of limestone (dims. 0.31m x 0.38m; H 0.25m). The outer edge of the bowl has broken off but the base of the bowl is still intact. The inner face of the bowl is roughly dressed. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 14 March 2013
