Explorer TomAquasplash Play Pool on Aberavon seafront is an outdoor argument against keeping dry: fountains, jets and falling water turn a patch beside the beach into a summer playground. Bring swimming clothes and a towel, because staying dignified may prove difficult. The sea is nearby, but this is the managed splash pad, not a swimming pool in the sand.
Celtic Leisure describes more than thirty water features at Aberavon Aqua Splash, with seating for adults carrying the bags. Entry is free during its operating season. Children must have a responsible adult with them, and the operator runs calmer, limited-number inclusive sessions for children with additional needs; those sessions require a booking. Even supervisors may leave with wet socks.
The splash pad sits along Princess Margaret Way, near Aberavon Beach and its long promenade. Neath Port Talbot Council also lists cafés, parking and other seafront attractions nearby, extending a day beyond the jets. The play area itself has no changing rooms according to Celtic Leisure, so plan how to deal with wet clothes before a dripping journey home.
This is a seasonal attraction and it is closed outside its summer season, including now in October 2026. The council confirmed it opened for summer 2026 on 22 May; a new reopening date has not been announced. Check Celtic Leisure's current notices before travelling, because rain, thunder, high winds or temperatures below ten degrees can close it even in season. Save the splash for a confirmed open day, and let the children make the biggest waves without having to wait for a tide.
