Annie Moore

Annie Moore left County Cork in 1891 with two young brothers, crossing the Atlantic to become the first person recorded entering Ellis Island. She was seventeen, hungry for a life larger than the village that birthed her, while the boys looked up through her as if she were the front door of the world.
