Amroth Castle was built in the late 18th century by the Williams-Wynn family, who held the estate of Wynnstay in Denbighshire. It is remembered as a picturesque example of Georgian architecture and as a symbol of the rural gentry's influence in south Wales during the 18th and 19th centuries.
