St Ninian’s Well at Alyth is associated with St Ninian, an early Christian saint and apostle to the Picts, believed to have lived in the 4th or 5th century. Holy wells dedicated to St Ninian were often sites of pilgrimage and healing, and the well at Alyth likely served a similar purpose, with traditions of water cure and spiritual blessing linked to its use.
