Alliance

Alliance was a motor trawler with a wooden hull. The saved Northern Ireland record dates the loss to 1997 but does not preserve a builder, home port, fishing voyage or cargo. Those details should not be borrowed from another vessel with the very common name Alliance.

The checked official record confirms that Alliance became a wreck in 1997 off County Down. It does not say whether she foundered, collided, grounded or was deliberately sunk. The cause therefore remains unknown on this page rather than being filled with a likely-sounding fishing accident.

No dependable crew total, death count or survivor account was found in the quick public check. That does not prove that nobody died. It means only that the human result cannot safely be recovered from the short name, year and seabed record now attached to this point.

The official survey places a wooden-hulled wreck at an accurately recorded point in 31 metres of water. It does not describe the vessel as intact or give its measured length and height. The depth and surviving wood make the point useful, but do not by themselves prove every part belongs to Alliance.
