Allery Crags is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous sandstone, formed around 300 to 340 million years ago through sedimentary deposition in ancient river and delta systems. The crags are notable for their resistant rock layers and coastal erosion features, which expose geological strata and contribute to the rugged landscape of Northumberland’s coastline.
