Airlie Castle in Angus is not a proud tower but a lost corner where a stone axehead still lies buried. The castle may have had chambers, fires and masters, yet human hands dropped or broke that axe before memory faded. The ground keeps both stories: the sharp edge of a tool and the forgotten shape of a house.
