Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Aird Ma-ruibhe as Square Cairn (iron Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Iron Age square cairn; likely dates to the 8th–1st century BCE. Such cairns are associated with funerary or ceremonial practices and are significant for understanding Iron Age settlement and ritual in Scotland.
