Yellow Buttress is a sea cliff composed of Carboniferous limestone, formed approximately 300 to 360 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its distinctive yellowish hue, which results from iron oxide staining, and for its role in illustrating coastal erosion processes along the Swansea coastline.
