What is recorded here

Marian and I walked the edge of the workhouse burial ground in Cornagrade, where poor children, old women and hungry men may have been laid without ceremony. I pictured small shoes, wet blankets and a keeper counting bodies instead of caring for them. The land still keeps what the town stopped seeing.
