Whitestown Burial Gd.

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Whitestown Burial Gd. is a living graveyard in County Dublin, Ireland, where new graves still appear beside older stones. It overlooks the Rogerstown estuary, and its earliest section rises slightly above the ground before leveling out near the roadside. The place has grown south and east as generations needed room, but the old heart remains raised, marked by 18th and 19th century memorials near the church gable. Death and memory still belong there.
Overlooking Rogerstown estuary. This graveyard is roughly rectangular in shape (L 40m, Wth 35m) and raised c. 1.25m above ground level. It has been extended to the south and east. The earliest section is raised above ground level and levels out c 13m from roadside. Memorials of 18th-19th date stand within the environs of the church gable (DU008-021001-). Still in use.
