Well in Townparks (navan Lower By.)

Just inside the line of the town wall of Navan at S. Archaeological monitoring (00E0354) by M. E. Byrne of foundation works at 13 Ludlow St recorded a well (excavations.ie 2000:767). The well was circular (dims. 0.8-0.9m; D 8.9m plus) and stone-lined with some brick in the upper part of the void. There was no evidence of the town all or any medieval deposits, as levels on the site had been reduced by up to 1.3m, probably in the eighteenth century.
