Well in Curraghan

Well

What is recorded here

Situated at the bottom of the S-facing slope of the NE-SW ridge of Leaan Mountain. A horseshoe-shaped earthen bank with evidence of stone facing is enclosing a wet marshy interior (int. dims 1.9m by 1.5m) in a manner similar to that of a well. It is located beside c. 10m N of a farm road, which may suggest that this was the site of a well of 19th century date. Date of upload; 5 July, 2017

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
